Announced the Taiyo Group Philosophy in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the company’s founding.

(headquartered in Meguro-ku, Tokyo; President: Fumitaka Awano; hereinafter “Actio”), an event and facility management company, jointly held the group event “ONE TAIYO EXPO” on December 22 and 23, 2023, at the Tokyo International Forum to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the company. At the event, which was attended by 2,294 people, including customers, stakeholders, and employees, a new Group philosophy was announced to employees: “Make the world softer, and the future warmer. The Taiyo Group not only responds to the challenges of its customers with tents, events, and facility management, but also aims to be “a corporate group that contributes to making the world softer and the future warmer” through its respective businesses. “Building an artificial mountain range of membranes in the desert, and making it rain, and creating one city.” The giant membrane and the city built in the desert are the vision of what the Taiyo Group hopes to achieve together. A city is created through the multiplication of hardware and software. We would like to create a town where people can live lively lives and be surrounded by smiles by combining the power of Taiyo Kogyo’s architecture, TSP’s events, and ACTIO’s facility management. This is a goal that can only be realized by the Taiyo Group, which is able to work side by side in everything from planning to establishment.

The Taiyo Group was founded in 1922 as Nomura Tent Shokai, and later restarted with a single sewing machine and a pair of scissors amidst the burnt ruins of the postwar period. The company has created unique products that take advantage of the characteristics of “membrane” materials, and in particular, it took on the construction of a large-scale pavilion for the 1970 Osaka World’s Fair, bringing “membrane” technology to fruition. In addition, TSP Taiyo and ACTIO were born as the company expanded its business domain, forming the three companies of today’s group that originated with Nomura Tent Shokai and grew into a group with total sales of 74 billion yen.

From 2022, on the occasion of the group’s 100th anniversary, we have been promoting activities to strengthen cooperation among the three group companies, such as creating synergies through personnel exchange and joint social contribution activities. Taiyo Kogyo for membrane technology, TSP Taiyo for event production and consulting, and Actio for event and facility management, aim to make further progress as a group by continuing to pursue the possibilities of membranes, spaces, and experiences while enhancing synergy.

We began formulating the Group’s philosophy in 2022, the 100th anniversary of our founding. In addition to the directors of all group companies, approximately 522 group employees, including employees of overseas affiliates, participated in the creation of the group philosophy, as well as the “Why we exist for society and its people.” The Group’s philosophy, vision, mission, and values were created to express “Why we exist for society and its people,” as well as the Group’s philosophy. The English versions of the statements and messages, including the Purpose and Values, were created in parallel with the Japanese versions, and are expected to contribute to fostering a sense of unity among the Group’s overseas affiliates as well.
