To supply “large tents” and other items to Aomori Prefecture in the event of a large-scale disaster

~43rd agreement signed to support early recovery from disasters

(Tokyo headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; Osaka headquarters: Yodogawa-ku, Osaka; President: Hidefumi Araki), which handles large membrane structures (tent structures) such as the Tokyo Dome and various civil engineering materials, has concluded an agreement with Aomori Prefecture (Governor Shingo Mimura) to supply large tents that can be used for temporary storage of relief supplies and relief stations during disasters. The company has concluded an agreement with Aomori Prefecture (Governor Shingo Mimura) to supply “large tents” and other products that can be used for temporary storage of relief supplies and relief centers in times of disaster.

This initiative, officially named the “Agreement on the Supply of Tents, etc. at the Time of Disaster” (hereinafter referred to as the “Disaster Agreement”), was concluded between Aomori Prefecture and Taiyo Kogyo as a preparation for the large-scale earthquakes and wind and flood damage that have been occurring frequently throughout Japan in recent years. In the event of an emergency, Taiyo Kogyo will promptly supply “large tents,” ” emergency air tents,” ” partitions” for use in evacuation centers, and various “civil engineering materials” to protect “temporary levees” and damaged slopes in response to requests from Aomori Prefecture, thereby supporting early recovery in the affected areas.

Taiyo Kogyo, the world’s leading manufacturer of large membrane structures, has provided bright, open spaces in Aomori Prefecture in a variety of settings, from all-weather sports fields such as the “Shimokita Snow Dome” and “Hiraka Dome” to transportation facilities closely linked to daily life, such as the “Hachinohe Station West Exit Station Square”. The Hachinohe Dome has provided bright, open spaces in a variety of settings. While supporting these daily lifelines, we have also voluntarily worked to provide large tents and other equipment in the aftermath of large-scale disasters such as the Great East Japan Earthquake (2011) and the Kumamoto Earthquake (2016).

Through past disaster response, we have learned that setting up tents in times of turmoil involves a variety of coordination and approval procedures, and we recognize the importance of preparation from normal times. This agreement will facilitate these procedures and enable us to provide more rapid recovery assistance to Aomori Prefecture.

The disaster agreement with Aomori Prefecture was signed on Monday, November 1, making this the 43rd agreement Taiyo Kogyo has signed with a local government. Through these efforts, Taiyo Kogyo intends to contribute to the realization of a society where people can live with peace of mind by supporting disaster preparedness.
