Released “Small Livestock Housing Bags” for Avian Influenza

Safe sealing of dead livestock pathogens
No need for renewal due to deterioration even with long-term stockpiling, and storage size is reduced to one-third.

Small Livestock Storage Bags

Passed virus leakage test (126 hours) *Verified by the Department of Animal Life and Medical Science, Kyoto Sangyo University

Double-layered construction with protective inner bag made of polyester non-woven fabric and aluminum bag.

To ensure that the virus is contained, a high sealed zipper tape is used at the closed entrance of the aluminum bag.

A gas venting filter that releases only the gases generated by dead livestock is also welded on.

No need for updating, storage size can be reduced to one-third.

Compared to conventional infectious waste containers made of plastic, these containers do not deteriorate over time, eliminating the need to replace stockpiles. In addition, the normal storage size can be reduced to one-third.

Reduce psychological burden on workers and risk of virus spread

While conventional containers require transferring dead livestock one by one after killing, killing is done in a protective inner bag, which is then sealed in an aluminum bag and stored in a “quarantine bag,” thereby reducing the psychological burden on workers and the risk of virus spread.

About Quarantine Bags

The quarantine bag was adopted as a “competitive research fund” by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in 2012 through industry-academia-government collaboration among Taiyo Kogyo, Kyoto Sangyo University, and Kyoto Prefecture, and research was conducted as a sealed transport container for a wide range of dead livestock, from large livestock to pigs and chickens. The product was initially developed for large livestock for foot-and-mouth disease virus, but due to expectations for application in the event of an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza, which has become a global threat in recent years, we began commercialization and have now achieved realization by reexamining the specifications, dimensions, and method of use [of the containment bag for small livestock].
