New product to prevent “oil” spills at factories and other facilities during floods
~The "Oil Fence for Onshore Use" developed by Membrane Ya, which has an abundant track record of responding to past water disasters.
2020.06.17
The sheet-type “membrane surface” is made of chemical fiber coated with vinyl chloride resin, etc. (Supplemental: A multi-layer type with an oil-absorbing layer attached to the inside of the “membrane surface” can also be supplied according to your plans). The size of each sheet is small enough to be carried by one person, and is connected to the adjacent “membrane surface” with Velcro or other means to form a large area.
These “membrane surfaces” are folded and stored in a compact state during normal times, and are deployed in the event of an emergency and suspended from wires or other devices installed on the exterior walls of the building in advance in preparation for flooding.
The “Oil Fence for Onshore Use” was conceived as a preparation for disasters that have occurred frequently in recent years, such as the oil spill accident caused by the torrential rainfall in Saga last August, and a patent application was filed and commercialized in March this year.
We have developed a wide variety of flood prevention products, including ” Concrete Canvas,” which was used in the temporary restoration of a river in Mabi-cho, Okayama Prefecture after the torrential rain disaster in western Japan (2018), ” Maxwall,” a continuous box-shaped steel frame that is used at restoration sites after tsunami disasters, and ” Deltatube (triangular water bottle), ” a flood prevention tool developed to replace sandbags. We have developed a wide variety of flood prevention products, such as the “Delta Tube,” which was developed as a flood prevention tool to replace sandbags.
Taiyo Kogyo will continue to support the disaster preparedness efforts of companies and municipalities in terms of both hardware and software, with the aim of realizing a society in which people can live with peace of mind.
